As a new public green space in Berlin, Spreepark will bring together culture, art, and nature with the history of the location. Art, as an essential design element in the future park, will provide new impetus and open up new perspectives: it will be incorporated into the entire structure of the park through permanently installed works, temporary exhibitions, and artistic interventions, making art—which can be touched, walked through, and immersed in—accessible to all visitors.
Art and planning go hand in hand in the new Spreepark: Together with architects, engineers, and other participants, artists are developing site-specific works of art—some temporary, some permanent. Former amusement park attractions such as the Ferris wheel and Monte Carlo Drive will be revitalized through art by the time the Spreepark opens in 2027. The permanent works are currently in the planning and implementation stages.
