RESIDENCY PROGRAMME

Since its launch in 2024, the Spreepark Art Space residency programme has offered artists from Germany and abroad a space for artistic research at the intersection of art, landscape and public space – with the former Spreepark amusement park as a unique place of transformation.

Even during the ongoing structural and conceptual redesign of the park, the programme remains a central component of our artistic commitment. The current international residency programme is scheduled to end at the end of 2025. The residencies for 2024 and 2025 – awarded through open calls – have already produced numerous site-specific, experimental and socially relevant projects. A special highlight will be the exhibition “Transient Landscapes” in spring 2026, in which the artistic works of the 2025 residency cohorts will be presented to the public.

Reorientation of our residency programme

From 2026 onwards, our international residency programme enters a new chapter: it will be curated and developed in close collaboration with a rotating network of partner institutions. Moving away from open calls, future residencies will be invitation-based – designed to foster thematic depth, interdisciplinary dialogue, and long-term collaborations.

The launch of this new programme phase begins with a two-year partnership with the project Ecological Futures – a joint initiative by the Goethe-Institut and ARCH+.
