Daphne Bakker, Fay Darmawi und Text Catalogue (Andrew Darmanin und Ella Fleri Soler)
Memoria is a multidisciplinary collective consisting of Daphne Bakker, Fay Darmawi and Text Catalogue, formed by Andrew Darmanin and Ella Fleri Soler, who met in 2019 at the TU Delft Berlage Architecture Masterclass on the interpretation of archives from the Dutch colonial period in Indonesia. Since then, they have shared an interest in uncovering and questioning the hidden systems that shape people's lives and environments.
Memoria engages with complex histories and spatial narratives to stimulate critical reflection and create inclusive, community-orientated projects, drawing on diverse expertise in architecture, urban planning, storytelling and artistic practice.

Research Approach
Memoria seeks to reinterpret Spreepark as a dynamic living monument. The park transcends being a mere relic; it is alive in the consciousness of Berliners who frequented it. Resisting a singular, linear perspective of the park’s history, the collective seeks to uncover the intangible and fleeting rituals of the park. Rooted in collaboration and open-ended inquiry, the collective embraces complex stories and contradictions, opening up possibilities for creative production. A kinetic expression of the living monument allows a dynamic city like Berlin to accommodate new inhabitants while honouring all who have come before.
Bridging past, present, and future through layered, considered and multidisciplinary approaches, the team merges their expertise to engage critically with contemporary discourse on monuments.
