Installation, 2024/25
The installation by Constructlab features the interplay of remaining objects in a series of small pavilions that recall the colourful arcades of the stalls in the Kulturpark and Spreepark. A life-size dinosaur, vehicles from the Hutbahn and an overturned carriage from the Spreeblitz rollercoaster combine the history of the site with its ongoing transformation and the future.
Spree Space Act 02 refers to the large number of objects and structures left behind that were scattered across the site and are currently inaccessible to the public due to construction work. The objects are bearers of history and memories of the amusement park. Presented in a new light, they raise questions about what is preserved, what is forgotten and what value relics have when memories fade and new narratives emerge.
The installation is a work of art in several acts. With Spree Space Act 01 (2023) on the façade of the Werkhalle, Constructlab has already explored the history and transformation of the site. Peepholes provided glimpses into the hall and two large graphic works represented the relics of the amusement park intertwined with flora and fauna.
