Search for the Secret Exhibition
Tour of the Spreepark construction site with Heidi Kirk
This tour invites you to discover Spreepark as an artistic landscape. Inspired by the work of the Memoria artist-in-residence group, we will look at the construction site not as an unfinished place, but as a space full of traces, stories and possible futures. Paths, materials, sounds and relics all become part of an exhibition hidden within the park.
Together, we will move slowly through the site and learn to look at things more closely. Using a simple frame, participants can choose their own sections of this landscape and discover the “secret exhibition” within. The tour combines Spreepark facts with Memoria's artistic perspective on memory and change – and provides a new sensory approach to a place in transition.
Heidi Kirk is part of the Welcome Team at Spreepark Art Space. For eight years, she showed visitors from all over the world around Berlin as a tour guide. Now she welcomes guests to Spreepark Art Space and answers their questions. Before moving to Berlin, she herself enjoyed the hospitality of locals in the south of France, where she grew up, in New York, where she studied comparative literature, and in Shanghai, where she taught English.
