Andrea Pichl

Andrea Pichl (born 1964, lives and works in Berlin) studied Fine Art and Sculpture at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee and at Chelsea College of Art & Design, London. She critically examines postmodern architecture and design. Based on research, Pichl produces installations, sculptures, drawings and photographs. Using strategies of appropriation and transference, the artist directs the viewer's gaze to individual components, fragments or excerpts.

Her works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including ‘Wertewirtschaft’, Hamburger Bahnhof, Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart, Berlin, 2024; ‘Palimpsest’, Federal Ministry of Finance/Hamburger Bahnhof, 2024; ‘Clubs of the Future’, Kunstverein am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, 2024; ‘Kiosk - Fragmente einer Zeit’, permanent, Kunsthalle Rostock, 2023; ‘Hoch hinaus’, permanent, Grundschule Berlin.

She was also curator of the exhibition ‘Worin unsere Stärke besteht - Fünfzig Künstlerinnen aus der DDR’; Kunstraum Kreuzberg, Berlin, 2022.
