Paula Gehrmann
Paula Gehrmann's practice is deliberately open and collaborative. Her work often exists at the intersection of art and mediation, or exhibition display. She creates modular sculptures and expansive installations that are functional and always reflect the contexts in which they are presented. Gehrmann creates platforms for participation in discourse, thus enabling viewers to reinterpret and recontextualize relationships.
She has participated in numerous (inter)national group exhibitions, including at the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig, the Gallery for Contemporary Art Leipzig, Kunstraum München, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Russia), and the Osservatorio Fotografico Ravenna (Italy), and has a long-standing collaboration with the Open Art Workshop Lebenshilfe Leipzig e.V. Gehrmann lives and works in Leipzig.
