Dušana Nikolić

Dušana Nikolić is a Serbian architect. She completed her Master’s studies at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade. Her fields of interest are participatory design, activism and spatial pedagogy. Through her work with the “Škograd” team, she gained experience working with children and marginalized groups within school community on the outskirts of Belgrade.

In 2021, she founded a Studio of Architecture and Urbanism for children “La Villette” in Pančevo, which educates children about the environment they live in and encourages critical thinking about the city around them. At the same time, she began working on the raising awareness among citizens about conservation of Weifert’s Brewery, an important cultural heritage site in Pančevo, through a series of different projects. Her goal is to involve children in the work of the local community and provide them with an example of the fight to preserve cultural heritage. In 2023, the studio was nominated as a finalist for the “New European Bauhaus” Award.

She was also engaged in the Relate project as a research assistant responsible for the development of the “Neighborhood Curriculum Game.” Her community-oriented work is further reflected in the Belgrade Urban Oasis project through a series of workshops organized in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Belgrade.
