Arsen Abrahamyan

Arsen Abrahamyan is an architect and urban researcher based in Yerevan, Armenia. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam, affiliated with the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA), and a member of the Cultural and Social Narratives Laboratory (CSN Lab), an interdisciplinary research-based cultural organisation. 

His work focuses on post-Soviet urban transformations, memory and spatial politics, environmental change, vernacular urban landscapes, and the relationship between natural and built environments. In recent years, as part of the multidisciplinary team at CSN Lab, working at the intersection of urban studies, memory studies, and environmental and cultural anthropology, he has contributed to and authored research projects such as Kond: The Elements of Memory, Getar: Memory of the River, Kechut: Memory Under the Water, Address: Balat Orphanage and Blue Yerevan, among others. 

Through urban research and cultural analysis, he explores questions of collective memory and the production of space. Arsen received his bachelor's degree from the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUACA) and his master's degree from NUACA and Politecnico di Milano.
