Transient Ecologies: a picnic intervention with HakkaMoon

14:00 - 21:30

When was the last time you thought about soil and how it effortlessly creates life?

On Saturday and Sunday, the soil of Spreepark will become a space for tasting, sharing, and learning from nature as well as from each other.  HakkaMoon’s performative intervention is dedicated to the unseen work of the diverse, manifold flora in the cluttered space. The rootless dwarf duckweed, the arm candle algae, the dandelion, and the stinging nettle, purifiers of the soil, will be the protagonists of this two-day performative picnic. Transient Ecologies explores the temporary state of the Spreepark, its environmental state, its flora, and its interaction with humans. The performance seeks to involve the audience by inviting them to coordinate within the space as well as to share delights and to get closer to each other until the sunset. On Saturday, 19:00 a gathering will take place, where HakkaMoon will be engaging with the participants in an intimate, exploratory tasting journey.

HakkaMoon is an artist collective composed by designer and artist Miriam Neubauer and Chef James Hoi Yeung Chan driven by the intersection in practices of art, biology, and food with a planetary perspective.
