For over 40 years, the Neuköllner Oper has been staging musical theater in every conceivable form - from operas and operettas to musicals and performances.
Neuköllner Oper has artistically accompanied the changes to the Spreepark as one of the most important urban conversion areas. After the musical theater Geschichten aus dem Plänterwald (Stories from the Plänterwald) historically examined the site in 2006, the Neuköllner Oper began its first conceptual and spatially located collaboration with the Spreepark Art Space in 2021 and celebrated the world premiere of “THE PRESENT saves the world: Fountain of Joy” in 2022.
In September 2024, as part of the WUNDERKAMMER series “Im Prinzip Hoffnung III - Utopie”, a ship sailed to the Spreepark and explored ideas for a hopeful future in workshops with activists and the audience at one of the most fascinating places for concrete utopias.
In January 2025, the Neuköllner Oper returns with the ensemble THE PRESENT and make the Eierhäuschen sing with the humorous musical theatre TV show persiflage “Der Preis ist Ei”.
